1. Rollout of Covid vaccine to pharmacies will be on appointment basis only

The rollout of the Covid vaccine to pharmacies will be on an appointment basis only . That's according to  Waterford pharmacist Paul Kenny from Haven Kenny in Tramore who is among the 1,000 nationwide set to administer the jab from today. Meanwhile there were 242 new cases of Covid-19 confirmed for today, the lowest number of cases reported in a single day so far this year.

2. Man sentenced to life imprisonment for Waterford murder

A man has been sentenced this morning to life imprisonment at the Central Criminal Court for the murder of a 60-year-old man in Waterford three years ago. In May of this year, Stephen Keane (31) of Coolfin Meadows, Portlaw, Co Waterford, was found guilty by a unanimous jury verdict of the murder of John Lowe (60) at his Portlaw home on December 13th, 2018. Today at the Central Criminal Court, Mr Justice Paul McDermott said that the only sentence that could be imposed was life imprisonment.

3. SEMRA ‘deeply humbled’ by significant donation from fundraiser for fallen runner

The South East Mountain Rescue Association (SEMRA) charity has said it is ‘deeply humbled’ by the generosity of Gillian Ryan’s family after over 27,000 Euro was raised following her death. Gillian, a 37 year old mother of two, died tragically while she was out running in the Comeragh Mountains two months ago

4. Bully swan blamed for death of two cygnets on Tramore pond

The discovery of two dead baby swans is more than likely not connected to the quality of the water at the lake in Tramore. That’s according to Councillor Jim Griffin who visited a pond known locally as ‘the lake’ in the town on Saturday, where the cygnets were discovered. A large male swan has carried out a number of serious attacks on his counterparts in recent months.

5. Cyclist injured following collision with van in Grannagh

The incident occurred on a section of the N24 near Dawn Pork and Bacon earlier this afternoon. A van and a cyclist were involved in this collision. The cyclist was injured over the course of this incident and has been conveyed to University Hospital Waterford for treatment of their injuries,.

6. Goal of the tournament already?

We are only on day four of the #Euros2020 but people are already hailing Patrik Schick's second goal for the Czech Republic against Scotland as the goal of the tournament. His magnificent lob from 50 yards out caught the Scottish goalie off his line and slammed the back of the net. What do you think, goal of the tournament??
