1. Some businesses get ready to re-open tomorrow

Businesses such as hairdressers, beauticians, gyms and shops are getting ready to re-open tomorrow as level 5 restrictions are eased across the country. The government's urging businesses to "step up" in applying Covid guidelines to make sure their re-opening is sustainable. Meanwhile people have been asked to avoid using public transport at peak times if possible

2. Christmas mass to be limited to 50 people

Christmas mass will be limited to no more than 50 people this year as parishes around the country prepare to welcome people in line with public health guidelines. Some dioceses are considering holding extra masses or setting up speakers to allow for people to remain outside the church, while others will stream the mass, as was done during the first lockdown.

3. Shortage of consultants worse than feared

There are 45 per cent more vacant consultant roles in Ireland than previously thought according to the Irish Hospital Consultants Association. The IHCA says 728 posts are currently vacant or unfilled on a permanent basis, while 612,000 people are waiting for an appointment with a consultant.

4. Full county panels can attend All-Ireland finals

Following Waterford's epic win over Kilkenny on Saturday, many GAA people, including Waterford manager Liam Cahill, called for all 36 players on county panels to be allowed attend the All Ireland Finals. Today the government confirmed that that is to be the case. Minister of State for Sport Jack Chambers confirmed the news to Waterford Deputy Mary Butler earlier today.

5. Waterford Camogie Management Team Step Down

Fergal O’ Brien, Dan Shanahan, and Pauline Casey have left their roles in charge of the senior camogie side effective immediately. In a statement they said "We wish the players nothing but the very best in the future".

6. Online fashion show

Dungarvan & West Waterford Chamber is organizing Dungarvan's first live Online fashion show. This free event will be broadcast on the Chamber Facebook page. Top trends and accessories from many of Dungarvan’s retail outlets will be on parade, with lots of fashions for all ages, sizes and stages.
