The Ivy Wellness and Beauty Salon in Newtown has won the Best Salon in Munster for the third time.

At the Hi-Style awards in Cork on Sunday, April 16, owner, Emma Fraher Power was presented with the prestigious award.

Dymphna Nugent spoke with Emma about the decision to open her salon in its current location almost six years ago.

The doors opened eight weeks after the death of her brother, Mick, on foot of a promise she had made to him before he died.

Emma spoke to Dymphna and Ollie on The Big Breakfast Blaa today, Monday April 24.
