Patsy Carney has set up Kinetic Labs - a shared space for life sciences

Ireland’s first private, shared incubator laboratory space for the life sciences has opened its doors in Waterford City.

Kinetic Labs was founded by well known Pharmaceutical Entrepreneur Patsy Carney.  The facility offers state-of-the-art single and shared wet lab space, as well as meeting rooms and a café.

Patsy told me that he's already in discussions with a number of people regarding renting space there. He spoke to me more about the concept of Kinetic Labs

There was good news recently for Waterford company Knockanore Cheese, which picked up the 'Brexit Ready Award' at the recent National Enterprise Awards

The awards, which took place virtually and were broadcast online from the Mansion House in Dublin, are in their 22nd year and run annually by the Local Enterprise Offices.

I spoke to Managing Director Eamonn Lonergan about why he decided to set up the company with his wife Patricia, about why people love the taste of Knockanore Cheese, and about why he thinks the company won the 'Brexit Ready' award...

Over the month of March on The Hot Desk, I'll be discussing Resurgence 25X, a concept aimed at improving the quality of the lives of Waterford people into the future, through the generation of ideas.

Resurgence 25X is the brainchild of Feargal O'Neill from ATPO, and he joined me on the first episode to explain the concept, and give details of how people can get in touch with their own ideas.

It's Enterprise Week, and as part of that, a webinar entitled "Waterford as a Place of Innovation and Entrepreneurship - A Vision for the Future," was hosted by the Waterford LEO.

There were a number of speakers involved in the event, which was hosted by Zara King, News Correspondent with Virgin Media. One of the speakers was  Irial Mac Murchú, CEO of Nemeton. He discussed his vision for the media, and you can listen back here on some of that presentation..
