TRM Clothing on Michael Street - a second shop is to open in Tramore

Elaine Roche, of TRM Clothing on Michael Street spoke to me about her plans to open a second shop in Tramore, once the pandemic ends. It will be located at Tramore Cross, at the site of Red Lane, which recently changed its business model to online-only.

Elaine chatted to me about her plans for moving to the seaside town, as well as about the changing fashions since the pandemic, and how she thinks there's a real desire for retail to come back..

I caught up with Elaine Fennelly, CEO of Crystal Valley Tech, who recently gave a talk as part of the Waterford Chamber Regional Leaders' Programme. The talk was on "Thriving in Business - What should you be doing?".

Elaine reached out to existing CEOs in Waterford to ascertain what behaviours successful people exhibit. She tells me it threw up some interesting and at times unexpected feedback.

Following the news last month that Bank of Ireland is to close 88 branches in the Republic of Ireland, including three in Waterford, the institution's CEO Francesca McDonagh appeared before an Oireachtas Committe this week.

Following that appearance, the Financial Services Union issued a statement asking five key questions of the bank. I spoke to FSU General Secretary John O'Connell...

The Resurgence 25X series has run on The Hot Desk for the month of March, and last night was the fourth and final feature. The concept is the brainchild of Feargal O'Neill of ATPO, and it's all about generating ideas to improve life in Waterford into the future. Resurgence will continue with a 'Resurgence for the Arts' webinar on April 7th.

Meanwhile, Lynda Lawton of Waterford Chamber spoke to me about the Chamber's involvement and she had some ideas of her own..
